About the Acumat® Inventor

The Acumat® is the creation of Tom Eckersley - a health and fitness coach who has been studying health sciences since 1997. He lives and works in Melbourne, Australia and combines remedial massage, shiatsu therapy, acupuncture, corrective exercise & personal training. He is currently completing a double degree in Chiropractic at RMIT University, to help his clients gain the most from life.

Tom founded Ki Health - Enlightened Solutions, an on-site health & fitness consultancy that assists people of all ages & abilities develop healthy lifestyles and improved fitness.

At the end of 2006, he had the idea for an exercise mat that could stimulate acupoints & muscle trigger points during yoga, pilates, personal training or rehabilitation. 

This concept gave life to the Acumat® in its current form as a multifunctional exercise, sleeping and anti-fatigue matting system.
